Have You Settled For Less?

By Marty Rueter

“We hurt ourselves not by what we ask for, but by what we settle for.”

It’s true. . .  how settled we can easily become if we let complacency, laziness, or insecurity grab hold of us… keeping us where we are, and have always been! Ambition is neither a vice nor a virtue – until you put all that drive and zeal into perspective, namely the objectives you seek (what you’re truly after).  Are your goals, needs, desires noble, altruistic, unselfish?

What do you want? And why do you want it? Many of us aren’t sure; seeing our daily real estate routine as just “going to work,” rather than pursuing daily business activities, building an asset, or even loftier, assisting people in one of their most important life decisions – securing a home, business location, or investment that’s enduring and prosperous!

People delude themselves into accepting the status quo as their destined (deigned) station in life, conforming to what’s others do, or tell you what should be perfectly acceptable to you. No matter how hard you try, you seem to always slip back to the status quo, whether it’s your acceptable weight, golf score, or real estate earnings. That is, unless or until you reprogram your “cranial compass,” the part of your subconscious that regulates what you believe you’re worthy of, how far you can extend, stretch, exceed before stress sets in – along with a nagging excuse that where you are NOW is forever.

For too many, what you’re settling for NOW is far below your potential. Why settle for so little, when you are capable of doing so much more, especially with the resources available through your CBC affiliation?

Aim higher! You deserve it! It’s like you.
